Global Voices Against Cancer
In August 2007, following a bladder inflammation, the doctors found out that I had prostate cancer. I had to undergo a number tests until January 14, 2008, when they concluded that the cancer was only in my prostate. I immediately started an anti-hormonal treatment, and on April 7, 2008, three days after my 70th birthday, I started the oncology treatment at Compus Kiel in Germany. I was sent to Germany for treatment by the Danish Hospital because there was an overbooking in Denmark. All the expenses were paid by the Danish Hospital. I returned to Denmark after six weeks and the PSA numbers have been between 0.1 and 0.2 since then. My doctors tell me that the cancer has been cured successfully. I would like to share the story of my treatment with as many people as possible to spread my message of hope: As long there is life, there is hope because of the worldwide research in cancer.
